Changelog
Every 1.x release is a free update for license holders. This page is the record of what changed and when.
1.0.5
24 September 2026
- A clearer end to the trial: a reminder the day before, and a window with the price and a Buy button when it ends.
- License activation now works on networks that could not reach the license server.
1.0.4
24 September 2026
- SideMini can now update itself. It looks for a new version once a day and shows it in the menu; nothing is downloaded or installed until you choose. The daily check can be switched off in Settings → About.
- An update never installs while the iPad is your screen. Installing restarts SideMini, so it waits until a monitor is attached and the iPad is disconnected.
- Updating from 1.0.3 or earlier is one last manual download from this site. From 1.0.4 on, updates arrive in the app.
1.0.3
23 September 2026
- The iPad Only tab is simpler. It now shows the switch and one line that says whether this Mac is ready to start with no monitor. FileVault, automatic login and the individual options are one click away, under Startup details and Advanced settings.
- If setup stops halfway, for example because a password prompt was cancelled, the tab says so and offers Finish Setup.
- FileVault no longer shows a warning when it is off as iPad Only mode needs it to be.
1.0.2
6 September 2026
- Always On can now keep the screen on as well. Keeping the Mac awake never stopped macOS turning the screen off and locking it, and there was no way to ask for both. The new switch is in Always On under Advanced, off by default so a Mac you only reach remotely does not sit with a lit screen.
1.0.1
6 September 2026
- Your license now covers two Macs and the app keeps count, so a key that leaks stops being everyone's key. Activating a Mac takes an internet connection once; everything after that works offline as before.
- A refunded or charged-back purchase now cancels its key. The app asks the issuer once a day, and a server it cannot reach never costs you your license.
- Replaced a Mac? Write to support and we clear the list the same day.
1.0.0
5 September 2026
- Automatic Sidecar connection at login, with burst retries while the iPad is locked and background watching after that.
- Virtual display for Macs with no monitor, so Sidecar can connect at all and Screen Sharing is not blank. Sizes: iPad-matched, 1080p, 1440p and 4K.
- Second-screen setup: connect even with a monitor attached, extend or mirror, remembered resolution, Sidebar and Touch Bar.
- Always On: keep the Mac awake off / while connected / always, plus Server mode for never-sleep, restart-after-power-failure and wake-for-network.
- Reconnects about two seconds after a drop. Per-display ignore list so an HDMI dummy plug does not count as a monitor.
- Doctor checks Sidecar support, the iPad, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, Apple Account, FileVault, automatic login, sleep policy and disk space.
- Optional lock after the first connection, connection sounds, notifications and a plain-text log.
- Three-day trial and offline license keys.
